Snuggle Up with Miniature Pigs
One of the most popular activities at Pennywell is our Miniature Pigs, yes, you can actually hold and snuggle a baby piglet! Pennywell’s miniature pigs are world-famous for their cuddly charm. We provide a cozy blanket to keep the piglets comfortable while you hold them, ensuring a gentle, heartwarming experience for both kids and grown-ups. And it’s not just piglets, we also have the fluffiest rabbits, sweetest guinea pigs, and even tiny mice ready to meet you. Watch your little one’s face light up as they cradle a new furry friend; it’s a memory you’ll cherish forever (so have your camera ready for those adorable snapshots!).
Animal Feeding Fun: Help Feed Our Farm Friends
Feeding the animals is another hands-on delight at Pennywell. Your children can bottle-feed the hungry baby goat kids, helping give milk to an orphaned or needy goat, a truly endearing experience. This up-close encounter usually runs twice a day (morning and afternoon), so check the schedule and be ready with a bottle in hand. It’s amazing to watch kids beam with pride as they help feed a baaa-by goat for the first time!
You can also wander over to the deer enclosure and hand-feed our beautiful herd of red deer. These gentle creatures are surprisingly tame and will eat right from your palm, giving children (and adults) a special chance to get close to wildlife. Don’t be surprised if this becomes one of your family’s favorite moments, there’s something magical about a deer trusting you enough to eat from your hand. Depending on the season, you might even get to help milk a goat or feed other farm babies, making your child feel like a real farmer for the day. Animal feeding at Pennywell is not only fun but also a wonderful learning experience as kids discover what it takes to care for these lovable creatures.
Farm Rides for Everyone
Hold onto your hats for some farm-tastic rides that are all included with your ticket! The whole family can hop aboard the Tractor & Trailer Ride for a bumpy, giggle-filled journey around the farm. Enjoy the fresh Devon air as you trundle past fields and paddocks, you might even spot some familiar nursery rhyme characters along the way (keep an eye out for “Old MacDonald’s” barn!). This tractor ride is a relaxing tour that delights all ages, from toddlers to grandparents.
Little engineers will adore the Rainbow Railway, a colorful little train that cheerfully choo-choos around its track. Children love waving to onlookers as they ride the mini locomotive, and parents can sit back and enjoy the cute spectacle (and maybe snap a photo or two).
For the more adventurous kids (and parents who are kids at heart), the Red Rocket is a must-try. This exciting ride zooms and whirls with just the right amount of thrill, it’s designed for ages 4 and up. Don’t worry, it’s still gentle enough for young ones who meet the height/age requirement, but it adds a bit of extra “woo-hoo!” to your day.Whether you’re chugging along on the train or enjoying the scenic tractor trek, these rides are sure to spark smiles and squeals of delight.
