Christmas 2024! Experience The Magic At Pennywell Farm.
We invite you to take a very special journey into Bethlehem where the story of the first Christmas is brought to life.
The farm is transformed into a winter wonderland with twinkling lights, hundreds of Christmas trees and plenty of Christmas sparkle. You will be greeted and taken along a tree-lined path, inside to the North Pole check-in where your festive adventure will begin. Father Christmas will have left us a guest list so we’ll be expecting you! Every child will receive their Christmas passport to get stamped at each point in the journey.
A knock on the door from your Pennywell narrator and it’s time to go.
You will enter Nazareth which sets the scene for Mary, Joseph, the Angel Gabriel and the world-changing news of what is about to happen.
Our donkey awaits to lead you along the path, to the little town of Bethlehem where we will be knocking on a few doors to see if we can find an Inn that will take us for the night.
When we arrive at the final door, we are met with the news that we have to share with the animals and the live Nativity will continue in the warm and cosy barn. With a real manger and all the Pennywell animals looking on, the scene is set and the story of the first Christmas really comes alive.
After the Nativity, it’s off to Noah’s Barn for some Christmas cheer with a homemade Christmas biscuit and squash for the children and mince pies and warming drinks for the adults. Children will have some time to burn off some energy on the bouncy castles and to write their letters to Father Christmas. There will also be an Elves Sweet shop open for the children.
From there, we move to another warm barn for our Christmas close encounters with the animals. Cuddle our Pennywell Miniature piglets, pygmy goat kids, and other furry friends. We’re sure you’ll enjoy making some new friends with all our friendly animals. There’s a special festive photo frame to get that all-important Christmas family selfie before moving to our final destination to meet a very special person.
At the end of a dark and magical forest, Father Christmas will be waiting in his grotto with a gift for every child. The perfect way to end your Christmas visit.
There’s no better way to get into the spirit of Christmas and mark the start of your own Christmas celebrations.
With both indoor and outdoor scenes along the way, we advise warm outdoor clothing and the all-important waterproof layer, just in case the snow decides to fall!

Hi Annette, Yes perfectly ok to bring someone along that is a wheelchair user, we have disabled parking out the front and disabled toilets on site.
Are you able to cuddle the animals at Christmas
Hi Lucy as part of the Christmas experience you do get time in our Christmas cuddle area, you will be able to see, stroke and cuddle Pigs, Rabbit and Guinea Pigs.

We have just come home from our visit and have had the best day! Magical from start to finish! Would recommend to anyone who wants to start their Christmas season off with a really magical day. Our children (5 & 4) were in their element… as was I (there 31 year old mum haha)

Where here for a weeks holiday, we always visit Pennywell my kids absolutely loves it there, I wish you was open through the week & that you wasent fully booked on the days your open.

Hi Jaclyn, I’m not quite sure when you were here for your holiday? We close at the end of October to then get the farm ready for our Christmas experience, We run our Christmas experiences on Fri/Sat/Sun and then every day for the last Christmas week.

Hi we are coming from mid Cornwall can you book for a morning session and stay there for rest of day or do you leave once your time is up
Hi Annette, the Christmas tickets only cover your 2-2.5 hour experience. The rest of the farm is closed for entry and you will need to leave after you exit the grotto. Hope to see you soon 🙂

Hi Janet, We are still sourcing a supplier for our sweets so can not confirm this now, but please give us a call slightly nearer the time so that we can confirm the sweet ingredients.

its my daughters 18th in december and she loves cuddling the pigs but i didnt realise you closed end oct, so thinking of booking in for the christmas event for a few of us, but can we miss out the father christmas bit!! or is it really based for smaller children??
Hi Tammy, thank you for getting in touch. The Christmas event is perfect for all ages, especially as your daughter loves piggy cuddles! You are more than welcome to skip meeting Father Christmas. This will happen at the end of your experience anyway, so once you are finished in the animal cuddles section, you will be able to just exit through the grotto instead of waiting to see Father Christmas. Please just let the team know on the day that this is what you wish to do 🙂

We visited your farm on the 28th October. And had the most fantastic day searching for the pumpkins. We never got to find out where the golden pumpkin was hidden. Please to get us out of our misery could you tell us where it was all that time?

Yes it is, the whole of our Christmas experience is accessible for both pushchairs and wheelchairs! We look forward to seeing you and your family soon.

The farm is only open for our Christmas experiences, you are with us for 2.5 hours from the time that you have booked tickets for. The farm will reopen in Feb 2025 for a full day of farmyard fun 🙂
