COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Statement, updated 20 March.

Pennywell is open as normal, 7 days a week from 10am-5pm.

Outdoor attractions are the best place to be!

We understand that people are concerned about COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and would like to assure all our visitors that their health and safety is always our top priority. We are open for you and want to keep you updated on the actions we are taking to stay open.

As a family farm attraction, we are fortunate in that we have always been meticulous about cleanliness and already encourage regular hand washing which is the key deterrent for contracting the virus. All our hand washing soaps and the disinfectants used around the farm are hospital grade.

In addition to our already, thorough cleaning routine we are doing even more cleaning and disinfecting of hand rails, surfaces and play equipment.

We are open as normal and encourage all visitors to follow the personal hygiene government advice to protect yourself and others:

  • Always carry tissues with you
  • Use tissues to catch your cough or sneeze
  • Bin the tissue, and to kill the germs, wash your hands with soap and water.
  • Wash hands regularly This is the best way to slow the spread of almost any germs, including Coronavirus.
  • Respect and abide by the social distancing guidelines set out by the government

We are encouraging visitors to come to Pennywell, enjoy being outdoors, enjoy the animals and be confident that with regular hand washing (we have over 40 hand washing stations) you can keep yourselves healthy and have an enjoyable day. After a long, wet winter indoors, there are great benefits for mental health too!

Plenty of hand washing is the best defence & with over 40 hand washing station you are never far from a tap!

With social distancing being important we are changing the way that we present our activities to avoid people having to be too close to each other. We also have literally hundreds of picnic tables dotted around the farm so you can always find space to picnic or take food from the Cafe if you prefer.

We are operating as a cashless site until further notice to avoid handling money.

We have removed all cutlery, condiments etc from our Cafe and Coffee Cabin. Our friendly team will pass these to customers instead.

Our Mothers Day offer will still go ahead and the FREE Cream Tea will be in a bag so that you can take it to a picnic table or take it home to eat. You are obviously still very welcome to enjoy it in the Cafe or in one of the outlets. It can be picked up at anytime during your visit so that we avoid anyone having to queue. We want to keep you safe but still want you to enjoy your treat!

At Pennywell, we have issued employee guidelines and we shall continue to monitor the advice from Public Health England and our local health authority.

For the protection of all our visitors and staff, we ask anyone with new symptoms of a cough and/or a high temperature not to visit at this time.

The whole team are working hard to keep themselves, the animals and all our visitors safe, healthy and happy. We all need fresh air and we all need exercise so lets look after each other, follow the guidelines and make some happy memories.
