Book Launch at Pennywell Farm, Devon Tourist Attraction
Following the success of the new Behind The Fairy Door® series of children’s books, Devon author Alison May is set to release the very latest book at the family attraction on Good Friday.
The series by Alison May was officially launched in May 2017 in London and Plymouth. The books follow DT the Railway Cat as he explores a world ‘Behind The Fairy Door’® in a place called Silver Birch Dell, full of fairies and an assortment of charming characters.
Later this month, the much-anticipated launch of Herbie Sweetcorn and the Chickenpox will be published, just in time for the Easter holidays.
“We’re very excited to have Alison here at Pennywell this Easter.” says Chris Murray. “The books have been very popular and we’re so lucky to have the newest one launched here on Good Friday. Visitors will be able to meet Alison and find out about the books.”
Author Alison and her publishing team will be at the family attraction in Buckfastleigh, Devon, from 10am to 5pm and will be signing books and meeting fans old and new.
“We’re all very excited to introduce our latest adventure from ‘Behind the Fairy Door’®” says Alison May. “Herbie Sweetcorn and the Chickenpox is a sweet tale which features lots of very funny characters.” says Alison. “The dog in the story is actually based on my own dog – who is just as mischievous as the one in the book!”
Alison, who has spent many years creating the ‘Behind The Fairy Door’® books was inspired by her memories as a child and later, when storytelling to her son. “We took ourselves on many adventures in the garden, after planting our very own Silver Birch tree” explains Alison. “Our imaginations created a cast of lovable characters and Silver Birch Dell unfolded! The areas such as Potting Hill, Watering Falls and Red Robins Air Strip to name but a few, all feature in the series and can be seen on the map within the books”
Herbie Sweetcorn and the Chickenpox is due out later this month and will be available via bookshops, the ‘Behind the Fairy Door’® website and signed versions at Pennywell Farm on Good Friday 30th March 2018.
