Goat Week at Pennywell, 19th - 27th October

It's the goat-to event of the year, as Pennywell brings you Gruffts 2019 

Sponsored by Goat Compare, Gruffts 2019 is proving once again to be the worlds greatest goat show and visitors to the farm are delivering the final verdict on which goat wins the coveted, ‘Best in Show’.

The goats go through several rounds including agility and disobedience as well as being judged on their all-round condition and looks.

Pennywell's Chris Murray says, “Our visitors love goats and our goats thrive on human contact and interaction, hence we came up with the idea of a goat show, Gruffts.

Goats are surprisingly intelligent, inquisitive animals and love taking part in the show”. 

Amongst the breeds represented are Toggenburgs, Pygmy’s, Saanens, Anglo Nubiens and Golden Guernseys all of whom are suitably groomed and prepared for the big occasion.

Gruffts 2019 is happening every day until Sun 27 October with a whole host of other goat themed activities, plus all Pennywell's famous half hourly activities, shows, rides and displays. 

As you might expect, opportunities for goat puns are plentiful. We had intended to promote the event on Social Media but were concerned that it might attract trolls!
