Pennywell Farm is proudly family-owned and run by the Murray family. The farm was founded in 1989 by Chris and Nicky Murray, who set out with a simple but powerful mission: to create a place where families could reconnect with nature, animals, and each other.

Since opening its gates over 35 years ago, Pennywell has remained a hands-on, heartfelt project. Chris and Nicky still play an active role in shaping the experience, and the farm continues to be run with genuine care and passion — values that have made it one of Devon’s most beloved attractions.

Their vision has always been about more than just animals; it's about creating memories that last a lifetime, one cuddle, tractor ride, and giggle at a time.

Pennywell Farm is a seasonal attraction and is not open all year round.

We are typically open from mid-February to the end of October, with our Christmas Experience taking place on selected dates in late November and December.

During our open season, most activities and attractions run daily, including:

    Piggy cuddles 🐷

    Tractor and trailer rides 🚜

    Goat and lamb feeding 🐐

    Outdoor play areas 🛝

    Indoor soft play 🌧

Daily shows and hands-on animal encounters 🐓

    Please note:

Some attractions may close temporarily in extreme weather for safety, especially outdoor play areas.

The Christmas Experience is a separately ticketed event and includes different activities tailored for the festive season.

Pennywell Farm is a fantastic day out rain or shine, with plenty of indoor and sheltered activities to keep the whole family entertained. From indoor animal cuddle areas to our soft play barn, we make sure the fun doesn’t stop when the clouds roll in.

Absolutely! Piggy cuddles are one of the most loved (and most Instagrammed!) experiences at Pennywell Farm. We offer Piggy Cuddles sessions throughout the day, giving visitors the chance to snuggle up with our adorable miniature pigs in a calm, supervised setting.

    🐽 How it works:
Head to the Piggy Cuddles Barn during your visit, sessions run all day and are included in your ticket.

You’ll be guided by our friendly animal care team, who are on hand to ensure both you and the pigs have a safe and enjoyable time.

    🧸 What you’ll need:
To keep our pigs warm and relaxed, we kindly ask all visitors to use a pet blanket during cuddles.

You can bring your own clean blanket from home

Or purchase one from the Pennywell Shop (they make a great souvenir!)

Cuddling a pig is the highlight of many people's visit — it’s calming, cute, and completely unforgettable.

Dogs are not allowed inside the farm; however, we provide free dog kennels in a quiet, shaded area of our car park. You’ll need to bring a water bowl and, if desired, a padlock for extra security.

Assistance dogs are welcome if they have received full training and certification from an accredited organisation. Visitors must complete our Assistance Dog Declaration Form before visiting.

Yes, all visitors must book tickets in advance, including:

    Day visitors
    Season ticket holders
    Wet Weather Return visitors
Guests with promotional vouchers or discount codes

Booking online helps us manage capacity, reduce queues, and make sure everyone enjoys a safe and comfortable visit.

🎟 Why advance booking is required:
Ensures we don’t exceed our daily visitor limit
Allows us to prepare for your arrival
Helps schedule animal activities and shows more efficiently
Guarantees entry, especially during weekends and school holidays

If you haven’t received your booking confirmation email, don’t worry — we’re here to help.

    ✅ First, try the following:
Check your spam, junk, or promotions folders, sometimes confirmation emails end up there by mistake.

Make sure you entered the correct email address during checkout.

Allow up to 10 minutes for the email to arrive, especially during busy periods.
